GRAMMAR: LESSON 22 The skill for this week is using proper nouns. Proper nouns have specific names and will begin with a capital letter no matter where it is located in a sentence. An example of how to help your child with this is to point out proper nouns.
SPELLING: LESSON 22 cities, cried, puppies, hurried, stories, flies, parties, tried, pennies, fried, carried, babies, spied, ponies We have really hit the ground running for the third and final trimester. Can you believe that the school year is 2/3 done already? This last portion is extremely important in regards to accountability. Students are working on a special MCA green homework sheet each evening and also reading for a minimum of 30 minutes per night. Please make sure these are done each night and that they bring it back to school the following day. If you are wanting some extra help on fractions you should check out the resource tab . The Kahn Academy is wonder when showing fractions . I am sending home information on our Author's party. The date is March 26th, a Thursday at 1:00 p.m. During that time your child will be presented with their hard cover book that they wrote and illustrated. They will also read it to a small group. When we are done everyone will be meeting in the lunchroom for cookies and a chance to see all of the books. PLEASE RSVP if you are coming so we can plan. It begins promptly at 1:00 pm so after checking in the office please go directly to my classroom. You can arrive 5-10 minutes early which might be a good idea since there will be a lot of people attending all of the third grade classrooms. Just a reminder do not park in the bus loading zone.
