We found out last year that zoom conferences worked really well. It seemed to allow for the full twenty minutes to be spent conversing about supporting your child. We also received lots of feedback that parents preferred zoom conferences. Please sign up for a zoom conference through skyward. If zoom conferencing doesn't work for you, please reach out to your child's teacher. October 28 and November 3.
SPELLING LIST FOR THE WEEK: ABLE, AFRAID, INDICATE, HOORAY, TUESDAY, EXPLAINED, BECAME, RAISE I can't believe we are in the last week of September! To be honest I have always felt September is the toughest month of the school year. Routines are established and for many students it's hard to get back on a schedule. I would say this group has adapted fairly well and we are on our way to a great school year. We had some challenges in the first couple of weeks but everyone seems to understand what being on the PATH looks like during the lessons. Keep reminding your child of your expectations are for them at school. Nice job on checking the Math homework each night. On nights when there is no homework sheet the students should practice their flashcards. The 2's just got sent home today.

Spelling List: product, contact, address, upset, helpful, until, listen, bread. (Test is on Friday.)
Hey Pleasantview parents! Wow, it ended up being a great fundraiser, our school has profited $17,048!! AND pledging remains open until Friday. HOWEVER, ss of now, we are going to pie 17 teachers in the FACE! Once again, every $1k, we pie ANOTHER teacher in the face so pledging will remain open until Friday! But there's more! Not only is next Friday a pie-the-teacher-in-the-face day it's also a PJ day!! So, send your student to school in their PJ's! H Thank you for all the support of Pleasantview, it's been a great week and we hope it sets the tone for a great rest of the year. We will be in touch soon! Mr. Olson's 3rd grade class was #1 in amount raised for third grade! We're slowly getting into the routine of daily life in 3rd grade. I'm sure you're also trying to establish a routine of when you read your child's agenda and also making sure they are finished with their Math homework sheet and returned daily. The majority of the days they will have a sheet in Math to work on. Please remind your child to record their Reading minutes on the page in their agenda. Total it up for the week and hopefully it's at 140 minutes or more. Set some goals along with rewards for achieving that goal. Last week I made many phone calls to many parents about their child and how they have come into the school year on the PATH and are having a great year. Please remind your child with what you expect of your child daily. Book checkout day is Day #1. This week that is on Wednesday. Remind your child to have their books returned to school prior to that day. It was great to meet you last evening at the Open House and if you weren't able to come in I look forward to seeing you at the Parent Teacher Conferences later this year.
Each Monday this blog will have important information for you so it is my hope that you will check it weekly. On this site you will see the Spelling List for the week. Your child should have written it in their agenda as well for the weeks we will be testing. Speaking of agenda, your child should have something written down in it each evening. One item that is listed daily is the read for 20-25 minutes. We will not be doing a mid morning snack break. Free breakfast is again being served for students if they would like. It's served from 7:20-7:40 a.m. Please have your child dropped off at school by 7:30 a.m. Picture Day is Tuesday, Sept. 14. The first few days of class I've been seeing some immature behaviors by several students. Please remind your child what you expect of them when they attend class each day. When I stop teaching because of one, the whole class has to wait for the lesson to resume. Thank you for your support. SPELLING LIST: agenda, September, packet, lunch, drill, think, stronger, happy |
