You may have noticed that some days your child brings home a white math sheet and other days they do not. The reason for that is on some days the students are doing the work in a notebook which is kept at school. Other days they are doing their work on a dry erase board. We have also been able to start the homework assignments (green sheets) at school so they shouldn't have a lot to do when they reach home. Our focus in Math is understanding story problems. If you ever wonder about an assignment or don't understand the homework there is something that can help you. Follow this link for help. /resources.htmlSpelling words for most groups are found in the front of the their agenda. These words are written down on Monday in your child's WIN group. Your child is bringing home a fund raiser envelope. If you want them to take part in this activity please follow the instructions. Just a reminder that Friday, Sept.27th is a two hour late start. We will start our day at 9:20 a.m. with some fun Math activities for the day. Beginning this week your child will be attending a Math and Reading class in the afternoon called WIN. It stands for What I Need. Students will be with others at their Reading and Math level which was determined by the testing we did last week. Each class runs for 30 minutes each. We did this last year and had some nice results with it.
On Thursday night you are invited to Parent Information Night. It will be held in conjunction with the Ice Cream Social. Please join other parents in my classroom from 7:00-7:20 pm on Thursday, Sept.19th. The ice cream social portion of the evening will take place prior to that in the gym and lunchroom. Please remind your child of what your expectations are for them daily. I'm having some issues with a few students that are being disruptive and this takes away from my lessons and time with other students who really need the attention. My hope is that if I call you on the matter that you will find some privileges that can be taken away at home until the situation is solved in the classroom. Thank you for your help and the other parents thank you as well. |
