Parent Teacher Conference slips will be sent home on Tuesday. It's the same time you came last October. Please sign and return only the lower portion the following day. If the time does not work, then please list some possible times you can come in and meet.
I am available also on Monday or Wednesday afternoons right after school as well. I can't believe we are already looking at a February calendar. Things are going well here and I'm enjoying the adventures of working with your child in Math each day. Keep working at home on measurement to the 1/4 inch and also showing examples of fractions. Lots can be done with food with fractions.

In Math our focus turns to fractions. What a great opportunity while in the kitchen to show your child fractions in action as you cut up food items.
Homework is given nearly every night and the nights we don't send home a yellow sheet students are encouraged to practice their flashcards. On Friday I will be emailing parents of students who have missed numerous assignments that week. Thank you once again for the support of helping your child be successful. The weather outside is lovely to begin the week however it's suppose to return to colder weather by the end of the week. Be sure to be prepared with proper clothing.
Math continues this week with two quizzes and also reviewing for our Unit 3 test. Be sure to practice some addition and subtraction with forming new groups. We will also be taking a big test on Tuesday and Wednesday to check the progress in Reading and Math. We took these tests at the beginning of the year and will be able to see the progress of your child. Results will be discussed at the Feb. Parent Teacher Conferences. It was good to see the students today. I missed them over break! |
