Just as we did last Autumn we will once again be holding Parent/Teacher Conferences on Zoom. I believe the window to sign up will begin on March 2nd with conferences on March 21st and 29th. Please sign up when you can as it helps me prepare the materials in order of my conferences. There will be directions coming from the district. I will be going over the results of testing from September compared to the testing we did in January. We will also discuss goals for your child and ways to help them finish this year strong. Thank you for taking care of this in a timely fashion and I look forward to seeing you again.

No school on Monday, Tuesday of this week. Also no Spelling list this week.
Social skills still is a concern of mine with this group of students. When they go to the Specialists, PE, Music, Art, STEAM, they do not work very well together as a team. Suddenly they are not getting along with one another. Can you remind them what getting along should look like when they are in school? Thank you very much. Please remember to have your child reading for 30-35 minutes each evening. SPELLING WORDS: announce, around, about, however, flower, crowd, found, brown.
Students can bring their Valentines on Monday, Feb. 14 for our party. They can also bring with their own beverage if they choose. If you have an opportunity please have your child measure a few things around your home using a tape measure. Have them measure items to the nearest inch. To challenge them have them measure the item to the nearest 1/2 inch as well. Next time you have pizza talk with your child about fractions. Show different amounts and have them tell you what fraction of the pizza is left and how much has been eaten. SPELLING WORDS: choose, loose, soup, fruit, foolish, good, lose, through.
I was gone last Friday from school and when I returned on Monday the substitute had left me a note along with a list of names of students that been off the PATH. The substitute said the inappropriate behavior continued during the day and made it extremely difficult for others to learn. A list of names was left of those who were the most difficult to control, and I had a discussion with them today. Promises were made that it would not happen again. I would like everyone to have that discussion tonight with your child of what your expectations are for them when someone else is teaching them. Also ask what they can do to help when other children are off the PATH. One disruption affects everyone who is trying to learn and when others join in the day can be lost for gaining knowledge. In this day and age we can not afford to lose a day of learning when so much time has been lost already for the past two years. Thank you for your help in this matter. |
