LOOKING AHEAD: 3rd Grade will be presenting a music concert on Thursday, February 27th at 7:00pm in the gym at Pleasantview Elementary. Students should arrive at 6:40pmto get ready for the program. Please wear your “best school clothes” for the performance. 3rd Grade will be bringing home their recorder and music to practice over break for our concert in February. Please be sure that these items come back to school for music class the week after break. Thanks! There are so many websites that your child can go to in our resource tab of my website. Please plan on having them work on their Math flashcards, read for 25 daily, and spend some time on think central.com

On Tuesday your child if they choose, may bring some money to be spent at the school Toys for Tots Store. Most items cost anywhere from 50 cents to a few dollars. The money earned from the store will go to the Toys for Tots organization. Our daily schedule has changed slightly for the rest of the school year. We will now start our morning off with Reading class instead of Math. This was due to some special ed. times being changed. That means our first class which begins at 7:40 a.m. is Reading. We will take the skills and the comprehension test for Reading on Thursday instead of Friday this week. The Spelling test will still be given on Friday. Your child's words are written in their agenda. It might be a good idea on Wednesday evening to test your child and see which words they have not mastered. In Math class we are into the multiplication/division unit. Please encourage your child to spend time with their flashcards. Here is a website that we used today to talk about division. www.MathWith Larry.com . On Friday of this week we'll enjoy a movie together for our class party. Other than that it will be a normal school day. During the break I'd suggest you have your child spend some time on Think Central website and set up a time each day where they practice flashcards, and read for at least 20 minutes a day. A lot can be lost during that much time away from school. I also hope they take the time to enjoy the time with you and their family. You are very fortunate to have a child like them. I will miss them very much while we're away from one another. |
