On Friday morning I received a phone call that one of my former students had arrived home after being deployed with the United State Army for the last 374 days. He would be arriving at school around 8:30 a.m. What made this homecoming even more special is that his daughter is one of my current students. She had no idea that this event would take place and it truly was one of the most special moments in my 35 years of teaching. Probably one of the best parts of it was when other students saw her dad. They did not ruin the moment by saying anything. They let her discover it for herself when he slowly walked out of PV towards our group which had assembled by the flag pole. Another example of the special class that these students continue to display.
I'm very excited to share with you via ZOOM on Thursday and the again next week at Parent Teacher Conferences. If you were having trouble signing up just email me. I can add your name to the list and share with you the times that are available. I will be sending home a paper copy of an outline of our meeting. Have it handy so you can write notes on it. That is what you would have done had we been in person. More information about the ZOOM session will be sent out. There will be a waiting room set up, and I'm asking you to enter it when you are scheduled. Please be on time. Our session will last 20 minutes. If we need more time then I can call you back.
