We did it! We made it through 50 days in what I felt like was a single stall garage and have moved into a more attractive room. The students and I went out on Friday afternoon and the looks on their faces was priceless. They thanked me over and over for the new room as if I had been spending evenings building it. It did take nearly 3 months and it was fun to watch the progress of it . During my lunch time I'd visit with the construction workers and from our conversations Math problems arose. The St. Cloud Times did a story on it and it has appeared in the Nov. 17 Sunday edition Page 1. Here is something else the SC Times did a few days ago. www.sctimes.com/videos/news/2019/11/13/pleasantview-teacher-moved-classrooms-11-months/4183139002/ Some very important details about our move. 1- Please have your child to school by 7:25 a.m. daily. If they arrive late it's going to take you and your child a long time to get class and you to work. They will miss the start of the lesson in Math and it usually contains some great jokes, stories and other valuable life long learning items I want to pass along to this generation. 2-Bring with sweatshirt or some sort of pullover top. The room is nice and toasty but there will be a brief time when your child has to go outside and walk about 20 yards into the main building for their Specialist Time (PE, Music, STEAM, and Art.) The walk takes about 15 seconds. (You knew I had to get some Math in this blog didn't you!) 3- We don't need water bottles. There is a state of the art drinking fountain in the hallway. 4- I can be reached at 258-1231 if you need to visit. Please try to call after class time. You are welcome anytime to visit after school and see the new place. 5- Continue to send notes for after school plans .
