We're back! I'm sure you were ready to send your child back to school after the nice winter break. I returned from Maui well rested and ready to push hard to the 2nd half of the year. Homework has resumed and it's also very important for your child to be working on their flashcards. Our current unit in Math involves multiplication. Look for opportunities to show those types of problems at home. Example: If I put 3 carrots on each of the 4 plates on the table, how many carrots will be used? You can also use examples of division. I have 12 carrots and I want to divide these evenly to the 4 people seated at the table. How many carrots will each person get? When students make a connection from school work to a real life situation they will retain the information longer. I really missed my students over break and was ready to get back from the 81 degree weather of Hawaii. This is a special bunch of students and I am so thankful for the parents that role model what it looks like to give your personal best.
